I. A gerund is used as the subject of a verb. (动名词主语)
1.He handed me a letter and I was just as happy as I could be, because the fighting was all over and the battles had all been won.
他递给我一封信，像往常一样，我很高兴，因为战争已结束，我们赢了所有的战役。
2.Looking back on how it was in years gone by and the good time that I had makes today seem rather sad．

II. Only a gerund is used after the following verbs. (动名词宾语)
